I was in the studio today with my headphones on thinking about how much music has fueled and impacted my jewelry making and creativity in general. When I'm feeling creatively zapped, I know that I can turn to my record collection for nourishment, and if I need a big smack of inspiration, all I have to do is go to a show and see an artist bare it all on stage. It's the perfect reminder that living creatively is a choice, that it takes tenacity, fearlessness, and and an unrelenting passion for what you've been called to do, whatever that may be.
Because music plays such a huge role in my art, I thought I'd start sharing some of my obsessive "on repeat" songs with y'all--and when I say on repeat, I mean it. I'm one of those people who will play a song obsessively, milking every bit of satisfaction I can get --and I'm always looking for new ones. I have a pretty absurdly unconstrained appreciation for a lot of genres so my Pandora mixes sound pretty all over the place.
