Winter Sojourn Recap // Closed until TBA

Jan 19, 2014

Hey all

After the holidays each year I like to take a short trip to unwind, freshen my mind, and reconnect with my creative self-- this year I chose Yosemite.  I had never been before, despite having grown up in the Bay Area, and so my mind was totally blown.  There has been a pretty nasty drought going on, so bummer there was no snow-- but yay! that most of the trails were open for hiking.  I got to see so much of the park, but with so few people around that it really felt like I was totally alone in the wilderness.

I came home with a sketchbook chalk full of ideas and inspiration, a rejuvenated spirit and some serious vision for this upcoming year {so many exciting projects in the works}.  Only bummer was that while I was gone the shop had a little flood, damaging the floor my Dad and I had installed.  Everything is working out taken care of so it's not the worst thing ever, but I'll have to close the shop for a while.  Not sure if it will take a week or two weeks, but we'll be back at it very soon-- with new inventory and a fresh-faced professionally installed floor!

CLOSED Jan 19th thru TBA

If you have items to be picked up or really just need a jewelry fix, please don't hesitate to call or text (510) 507-0789,  I'll do my best to take care of you.

In the meantime, here are some shots of my amazing trip to Yosemite, enjoy!  See you soon xo

Packing up the essentials

On the road, Highway 140

Chilnualna Falls hike

Giant Sequoias at Mariposa Grove

Some of the largest biomasses on the planet right thuuur.

Glacier Point look out at the top of 4 Mile Trail

En route to Sentinel Dome

.1 mile to the summit of Sentinel Dome... only two people had gone up there before me and I made sure to put my feet in their footprints... my backbacking boots stayed dry as I tromped through the snow

Whoa!  Over 8,100 ft up, almost same elevation as the summit at Half Dome

Going up up up to Yosemite Falls and Yosemite Point

Top of Yosemite Falls

Sunny side of the valley was bright and blue, the moon is off in the distance

Met some young dudes backbacking... off on the right is Sentinel Dome

Dusk was settling on the trail, all the hard work people did to build this trail was pretty moving.

Just yes.

Last morning before driving home I hit the John Muir trail

Nevada Falls

Had a nice little lunch as the mouth of the falls... didn't see one person on the trail.

Another magnet for my collection... I want one from each park.
