Sarah Swell Showroom // Sausalito CA

May 7, 2014

I cannot say enough about this woman.

Sarah and I met years ago when both of us just had young little burgeoning businesses, each working hard to get an opportunity that would start opening up doors.  She and our friend Christine Aiko helped open the 'pop-up' version of Crown Nine, and stood by my side as I experienced the ups-and-downs of the shop growing up over the last few years.  Now I am beyond thrilled to see one her dreams come true: her own showroom/studio.  The wait was well worth it.

Just like the aesthetic of her jewelry design, the shop is timeless and exquisitely designed with a magical balance of refinement and edge.  Each little nook is cared for, I can see Sarah in every little detail.  She is offering alongside her jewelry and bridal collection, a super well-curated assortment of beautiful objects--blankets, incense, mirrors, bags, scents, ceramics, and her own vintage collection of jewelry that she has been gathering for years, bringing to life her tagline 'precious metal treasures and accessories for life.'

Sarah will be there throughout the week, balancing working on her jewelry design and operating the showroom to clients and passersby.  Caledonia Street is a sweet little walk up from gorgeous views of the bay, you can make a whole day of exploring the area and eating out.  Go visit her, it's a must.

Congrats Sarah-- your vision is simply stunning xo

RARITY // Behind the Scenes with Sarah Swell + Eva Kolenko

Jul 9, 2013

There are days when I am totally amazed by the job I made for myself. When I envisioned becoming a jeweler, one of the things I was looking for in my life was more time spent with creative, inspiring people. And blam-o, here I am all these years later, hanging with two amazing and inspiring women who continually blow me away with their grit and eye for beauty. Sarah Swell and Eva Kolenko are total comrades who have taught me many things about life and supported my business in uncountable ways.  Friendship, business support, inspiration...not so bad, I must say.

Sarah and I have studios fairly close to one another, so I often pop by for errands and to bug her for no good reason. Eva had yet to check it out, so she brought baby Parker along and snapped all theses amazing PHOTOS for Rarity. Sarah made a excuse-my-language-outburst worthy necklace/ring, a silvery slithering serpent with a green diamond eye. You must see it >>>.

Here are some of my favorite outtakes from hanging with these girls. Enjoy.

Welcome our newest artist at CROWN NINE, Boston artist SOPHIE HUGHES. Sophie’s hand-forged jewelry is an effortless marriage of sophisticated minimalism with a hint of urban edge. We lov e her for using ancient hammering techniques to transform silver into modern, versatile, everyday wearable designs.

In her studio in Boston’s SoWa design neighborhood, Sophie creates custom commissions, unique pieces, and limited-production collections for an intimate selection of shops and galleries across the US and Europe. Each piece is individually and meticulously crafted using a hammer and anvil.  Sophie uses the highest quality reclaimed sterling and gold to minimize new mining, for eco-conscious jewelry.  We welcome her to the Crown Nine family--she will premier on the website along with a handful of other new artists in late summer.
